Incoming 1st year students – School Transport 2020/2021

SCHOOL TRANSPORT

2020/2021 School Year

 

Who is eligible?

Children who reside at least 4.8 kilometres from and attending their nearest school are eligible for Post Primary school transport.

 

How do I apply?

Online to Bus Éireann at www.buseireann.ie –

Applications can be made from MONDAY 3rd FEBRUARY 2020.

 

When do I apply?

Applications should be submitted before the last Friday in April 2020.

 Late applicants are NOT guaranteed a seat.

 

What is the charge?

The current annual charge is €350 per child with a family maximum of €650.

Reminder that important voting takes place all this week in the Junk Kouture competition. The votes will count toward the overall score of costumes, influencing what groups advance to the Grand Final.

Sat Feb 29th Incoming 1st year assessment day

Sat Feb 29th is our incoming First Year Aptitude Tests for 6th class students who have enrolled with us for Sep 2020.

All enrolled girls are requested to be present by 9.20 am. All enrolled boys are requested to be present at 12.20 pm.  Headphones/ earphones are required. This is not an exam. School closed Tues Feb 11th

A reminder to parents that Cnoc Mhuire will be closed on Tuesday Feb 11th due to our Junior Cycle Cluster day which is scheduled by Department of Education. Students will have NO school as teachers are provided with CPD on the new Junior Cycle.

Junior Cycle business Awards

Well done to our seven Junior Cycle Businesss Award winners presented to Lauren Whelan and Ms McBrien on behalf of all seven students. Maynooth University sponsor a school award for Business Studies students who achieve a Higher Merit in their Junior Cycle exam.

Church Gate Collection

The Parent’s Association are holding the annual Church gate collection this Sat Jan 25th/ Sun Jan 26th. Thanks to all our parents who help collect in our local County Longford parishes. Last year’s funds were spent on new tables and chairs for the SEN room.
